The Annual Big Sandy Alumni Association picnic will be held on Sunday, July 25, 2021.
The executive committee felt that the picnic for 2021 could be planned for, in time to announce in early, via our annual mailed newsletter to membership, by following then current CDC guidelines for outdoor events at the time the newsletter was being compiled.
2021 Lunch Service & Meeting
Lunch service will start, as always has been done, at 12 p.m., followed by our annual member meeting at 1 p.m.
This year’s change is, we have contracted with a local caterer, who is also a Big Sandy alumni!
Thank you to Virginia (Gordon) McKnight (Class of 1976) and her partner, Lavonne Lazor, for catering our annual picnic.
The following meal & and accoutrements will be provided, for a cost of $9.00 per plate:
- Hamburger (with condiments), coleslaw, chips, watermelon, bottled water, tea or lemonade
- All plates, flatware, cups and napkins.
The cost of the meal will be collected by caterer, as attendees who wish to purchase a meal are served.
The Alumni Association will erect the canvas canopies & tables, so graciously purchased through the donations of so many in our organization in the past, around the park for ‘sit in the shade’ places with extra tabletops available to hold your plate while you visit and catch up with others, but we do encourage you to bring your own chair(s).
We have missed seeing you in person – and hope to see you this year!
While this is a diversion from our prior annual potluck dinner gathering, we do hope this eases the burden on folks who travel far, stay with friends, family or in a hotel, and/or those of us that aren’t natural chefs, but for whom it is not always a quick or easy task to bring a potluck offering with you!
